Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an advanced, non-invasive imaging technique that uses light waves to capture detailed cross-sectional images of your retina. Much like an optical ultrasound, OCT allows our optometrists to see beneath the surface of the eye to inspect each individual retinal layer.
What OCT Helps With:
Early Glaucoma Detection: Measures the thickness of the optic nerve head and retinal nerve fiber layer to detect glaucoma before vision loss occurs.
Macular Health: Identifies subsurface changes related to Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Macular Edema, and macular holes.
Treatment & Progression Monitoring: Tracks microstructural changes over time to evaluate treatment efficacy for retinal conditions.
